Potency is key

Dosage

Food supplements need to provide the correct potency, since dosage is the key to success when using nutrition and herbs. Whilst you’d be right in thinking that getting the dosage right is a fundamental requirement, it is surprisingly difficult to achieve this by using many of the supplements on the market.

At Lamberts®, however, we start with dosage. Our entire product range has been developed around this philosophy and is based upon ‘sound’ science – meaning that we only develop products that are at the right potency and supported by a valid scientific rationale. We only include nutrients in our formulas at relevant levels that ensure they will make a significant contribution to a normal diet, or in the case of herbs at a level that is supported by scientific studies.

Quality products backed by clinical research

Being at the leading edge of responsible nutrition is at the heart of the Lamberts® ethos. As well as developing products at the correct dosage, supplying quality products is a fundamental basic in our books. We source the best ingredients and manufacture premium quality supplements in modern and technologically advanced facilities in the UK. Each and every one of our raw materials is meticulously screened and tested in the UK to ensure its quality. Our checks cover everything from botanical finger printing through to sustainable sourcing.

Guaranteed high quality

This also means keeping up to date with the latest developments in the ever-expanding field of nutrition. As a result, we can ensure that the new products we supply are supported by multiple published studies that carry scientific significance. Over the years, Lamberts® has invested in valuable clinical research, including studies on magnesium bioavailability, iron bioavailability, and the use of anthocyanidins (Colladeen®) for oedema.

Honest marketing

Given the importance of a valid scientific rationale, we strongly feel that there are two areas of the food supplement industry where marketing hype is allowed to take precedence over the science of nutrition. Firstly, the common practice of including ingredients in formulas at levels that are, in terms of nutrition, irrelevant, and secondly, not choosing the most relevant form of the nutrient.

Take lutein as an example

Some manufacturers overstate their lutein levels, claiming the weight of the preparation, rather than just the lutein. We feel this is misleading, so we simply provide you with the pure, free-form amount.

At Lamberts®, we use pure lutein since this is chemically identical to the lutein found in green leafy vegetables. By contrast, some other companies use lutein esters which are chemically different from the lutein found in green leafy vegetables. We feel the product label should make it clear which form of lutein has been used but sadly this is not always the case.

An eye on safety

It is also important to note that potency cannot be considered in a silo, and at Lamberts®, safety is also fundamental when developing our formulas. That is the reason why we only include nutrients at effective, relevant, and stable levels in our formulas, and do not hesitate to declare everything that our products include.
