Traditionally used in herbal medicine for hundreds of years, hawthorn has now become one of the most popular herbs in the western world with many papers documenting its important properties. The active compounds in hawthorn include a range of flavonoids including rutin and proanthocyanidins. These compounds are highly concentrated in hawthorn leaves and flowers which is why our extract is derived from these portions of the plant.

This is one of the strongest hawthorn products available in the UK and the quantity of herb provided by each tablet reflect the levels used in studies.

New legislation came into force in April 2011 that requires many herbal products to be registered as Traditional Herbal Medicines. Lamberts® is committed to registering all our important herbs as Traditional Herbal Remedies (THR’s), and this lengthy and complex process is well underway.
In the meantime we can continue to sell through the stocks of those herbs that are classified under Section12/2 of the Medicines Act, including this product, to consumers as long as it is for their own personal use. Only 2 pots per order are permitted.
